Several firms offer competing indexes that track the popularity of programming languages. Now Pluralsight is jumping into the mix with a new index that tracks tools, frameworks and technologies, as well as coding languages. The rankings are based on “8 billion points” from GitHub, Stack Overflow, Google AdWords, YouTube, and Google Search.

According to the Pluralsight Index, the most popular of the 300 items it tracks are Java, HTML, C++, JavaScript, Blockchain, jQuery, C, CSS, C#, Arduino, Development, , Salesforce, PHP, MySQL, Angular, Amazon Web Services (AWS), Spring, SQL, and Node.js, in that order.
