As the title says. I am looking to incorporate my business and I see that some websites (like Stripe Atlas) offer a flat fee of $500 for the whole incorporation whereas when I spoke to various business lawyers, their prices range between $1500 – $4000. Their main argument is that websites like Stripe and LegalZoom offer a "one size fits all" approach to incorporation and thus leaves founders and business owners vulnerable to lawsuits that can "pierce the corporate veil". Given my lack of knowledge in that area, I am unsure if this is true or not.
Now, I know that lawyers have to justify their fees, but from a purely financial standpoint, this seems like a big chunk of change upfront but I also want to avoid having legal issues down the road. Any opinion or story that can help me in making an informed decision would help.
