Google Cloud seems to be using artificial intelligence as a key to unlock more customers in the hyper-competitive cloud infrastructure landscape. The tech giant is also its clients build AI models without them having to be experts through its AutoML Vision tool, which will now be available in public beta.

While Google Cloud trails Amazon and Microsoft in the cloud infrastructure market, it has emerged as the leader in cloud AI services. And with AutoML available in public beta, its clients will be able to use Google’s machine-learning without having to type a single line of .

The company is also taking an AI-first for all its products including ‘search’ and ‘Gmail.’

“We want to bring the power of that approach to all (our clients), we want to make it possible for them(to apply) our advanced research to problems that matter to our customers,” said Google’s CEO Sundar Pichai, who made a surprise visit to the company’s cloud conference in San Francisco.

The company is also using AI to improve its other offerings like G Suite, which includes Gmail, Docs, and Drive, among others. SmartC ompose, which ‘intelligently’ autocompletes emails for consumers, will now be available for Google Cloud’s enterprise customers. Google has also added voice commands to Hangouts hardware, which is used by enterprises to have video meetings at scale.

Some of Google Cloud customers in India range from Hero Motocorp and HDFC Sales to startups like vernacular platform ShareChat and logistics firm Delhivery.

The India public cloud services revenue is projected to grow 37.5% in 2018 to $2.5 billion, up from $1.8 billion in 2017, according to Gartner.
